We welcome some of the most exciting debut authors from around the world!

Shelley Burr is the winner of the CWA Debut Dagger award with Wake. When not writing she works at the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. She lives in Canberra.

Lee Cole, author of Groundskeeping was born and grew up in rural Kentucky. A recent graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he now lives in New York.

Ethan Joella, author of A Little Hope has had pieces in River Teeth, The International Fiction Review, and The MacGuffin, he lives in Delaware with his wife and two daughters.

Juhea Kim was born in Incheon, Korea, and moved to Portland, Oregon, at the age of nine. Beasts of a Little Land is set during the turbulent decades of Korea's fight for independence.

Dolen Perkins-Valdez, author of Take My Hand, is currently Associate Professor in the Literature Department at American University and lives in Washington, DC with her family.

David Sanchez, author of All Day Is A Long Time is the recipient of a Michener Creative Writing Fellowship and a PEN America Writing for Justice Fellowship. He lives in Tampa, Florida.  

Sean Thor Conroe was born in Tokyo. His writing has appeared in New York Tyrant, Hobart, Back Patio, and X-R-A-Y. He hosts the book podcast 1storypod and lives in Harlem.

Silje Ulstein has a masters degree in Literature from the University of Oslo and studied creative writing at the Bergen Writing Academy. Reptile Memoirs was a bestseller in Norway. She lives in Oslo.
