"Wow! What a beautifully crafted exhibition showcasing the talent here in Glasgow at The Mitchell Library! So many wonderful colours to inspire us! Thank you for hosting this wonderful exhibition and always keep creating! We were born to create wonderful things! 😊"
"A great exhibition. Much to remember. Loved the blank page and also the story of Simon. Also the bead baskets."
"Love the Swedish baskets and Lucy’s hare picture."

Here at The Mitchell Library we welcome you to an exhibition devised by and celebrating the artistic practices of colleagues working as Librarians, Library Assistants, Information Officers and Venue Attendants here in the building.

After many discussions over the years, it became apparent how many creative people worked within the team, so we decided to do something about it. This staff art exhibition gave us a reason to produce new work, experiment with different techniques, brush off some older pieces and encourage each other to get our creative flow going.

The work in the exhibition demonstrates a wide range of artistic practices, from painting, drawing, writing, screenprint, photography and sculpture. We hope this may be the start of a more regular series of staff exhibitions, with a desire to include staff from all departments that help to make The Mitchell Library the loved and cherished building that it is.

The title for the show is taken from one of novelist and screenwriter Raymond Chandler’s unused titles. More can be found out about the “Raymond Chandler Project” under the work of Wonky Article, who can be found near the start of the exhibition.
