The startlingly innovative Irish/Norwegian string trio Slow Moving Clouds stake out their sonic territory somewhere between Sigur Rós and The Gloaming. With instrumentation including fiddle, cello, nyckelharpa, bass, zither and mbira, plus eerie falsetto vocals, their earthy yet ethereal music fuses Celtic, Nordic, classical, indie, post-punk and electronic influences into mesmerising future-folk.
Cavan-born singer and songwriter Lisa O’Neill fearlessly channels the raw, primal wildness at the core of traditional music, in a repertoire encompassing classic ballads and Traveller songs together with compelling original material. As heard on 2018’s fourth album Heard a Long Gone Song, her voice casts a uniquely powerful spell. “Uncompromising, stunning, soul-shaking stuff.” (Guardian)
