Established in Partick in 1925, The Glasgow Philharmonic Male Voice Choir has a reputation of being one of Britain’s premier male choirs. The choir have regularly performed at venues and festivals around Britain including The Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall in London and our own Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls. The choir are also past winners of choral competitions including the prestigious Welsh Eisteddfod.

We are delighted to welcome the choir back to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall along with guest artists Mezzo Soprano Lucilla Graham and the Baritone Jonathon Kennedy.

Mezzo Soprano Lucilla was born in Scotland. A graduate from the Royal Northern College she has established herself on the professional stage with roles including Amastre in Handel’s Serse, Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen, and Nerone in Monteverdi’s Il Coronazione di Poppea

Scottish Baritone Jonathan Forbes Kennedy has sung as a soloist for the Mozart and Fauré Requiems, Handel Israel in Egypt, Beethoven Missa Solemnis, J S Bach St Matthew and St John Passions, Vaughan Williams Serenade to music and 5 Mystical songs, Finzi In terra pax and Saint Saens Oratorio de Noel

Adding these soloists to the choir's varied and extensive repertoire promises to make the concert a fitting overture to Christmas that will lift your spirits with seasonal music, audience participation and choral favourites.
