At Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries we provide free emotional, practical and financial support to anyone affected by cancer. We support people living with or beyond cancer, the family, friends or carers of someone with cancer, people who are bereaved, and people who are worried about cancer and have some questions.
You can refer people into us for in-person or telephone support via 0141 287 2903, firstname.lastname@example.org or online with NHS inform. We will contact all referrals within 2 working days.
We require the below information, with the person's permission, for us to contact them:
- Contact number
- Support required and/or how person is affected by cancer.
I have found the referral process very fast and responsive and as a worker I've always been updated with the process. I have made referrals mostly over the phone to Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries which again has helped speed up the process.

Tracey, Improving the Cancer Journey
Macmillan information points are across the city in Glasgow Libraries, health centres, Job Centres, Glasgow Clubs and hospital Support & Information Services. This initiative, driven by Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries, aims to make it easier for professionals to support people affected by cancer in Glasgow.
Our information points provide a single point of access for patients, carers, family, friends and people who are bereaved to find out about the range of different cancer support services available across the city. If you are discussing cancer with anyone affected by cancer, please direct them to the information point where they can take information away for free. Please contact us if you have any questions about our information points in the community.
