People's Palace Youth Panel
A museum for the people
The People's Palace Youth Panel is a group of young people aged 18 to 25 living in Glasgow. Since May 2025, they've been working with Glasgow Life Museums to make sure young people's voices are represented in the project.
One of the members, Orla, has told us what makes the People's Palace unique.
About the Youth Panel
During the project’s Development Phase, the Youth Panel met every six weeks. They gave feedback on how to make the refreshed People's Palace relevant, accessible and engaging for young people.
The group has influenced many parts of the project, including:
- Architectural plans.
- Themes and stories explored in the museum.
- Proposed public programming.
- Objects and key messages for specific galleries.
Youth Panel members will continue to be involved in the project as it progresses. The group will focus on developing content for galleries.

A place like People's Palace provides that venue for people to realise that their stories are important enough to be curated, exhibited and worked on. So, I think that's a very exciting thing to work on.
