Club Future Fund 2026
The Club Future Fund, funded by Summer of Sport, supports sports clubs affiliated to National Governing Bodies / Scottish Governing Bodies as recognised by sportscotland. Clubs should demonstrate how their project will recruit new participants, retain members, develop coaches and volunteers and build lifelong pathways in sport for young people aged 3-26.
Grants between £3,000 to £5,000 are available for eligible projects. Applications should demonstrate how the project will deliver a minimum of one of the fund’s key outcomes:
• Grow: increase participation, reduce barriers to access and retain members.
• Learn: develop coaches, volunteers and club leaders through training and education.
• Engage: strengthen club sustainability through improved structures, partnerships and community engagement.
Aligned to the Active Glasgow Strategy, the fund aims to build stronger, more resilient affiliated sports clubs that provide welcoming and lasting opportunities for people across Glasgow to take part in sport.
Eligible applicants must be:
- Constituted and affiliated Clubs to recognised National Governing Bodies / Scottish Governing Bodies as recognised by sportscotland.
- Clubs must be based in and deliver activity within the Glasgow City boundary.
Ineligible organisations include:
- Individuals
- Clubs not affiliated to a recognised National Governing Bodies / Scottish Governing Bodies set by sportscotland.
- Clubs that have received Pathway funding from their National Governing Body / Scottish Governing Body.
- Organisations delivering activity outwith Glasgow
- Organisations not delivering sport or physical activity
- For-profit organisations
Schools - Unconstituted groups
- National Governing Bodies
Funding can support a flexible range of activity, including:
- Delivery costs – facility hire maximum 10 weeks, coaches, equipment, volunteer expenses.
- Improving access – inclusive equipment, subsidised activity and memberships. Subsidised activity / memberships must evidence need and are capped to a total value of 20% per application
- Expanding existing provision or reaching new communities
- Targeted activity to engage underrepresented groups
- Workforce and volunteer development
- Marketing and promotion to increase awareness and participation
Priorities include:
- Establishing new sections / programmes
- Sustain and develop existing sessions
- Increase memberships / reduce waiting lists
- Developing people through Coaching / Officiating qualifications
- Developing people through workshops
- Partnership programmes within the community
- Items of personal equipment or strips/ playing kit.
- Costs already covered by other funding awards.
- Capital Costs.
- Refreshments and food.
- Transport.
All eligible applications will be considered. Priorities include:
- Establishing new sections / programmes
- Sustain and develop existing sessions
- Increase memberships / reduce waiting lists
- Developing people through Coaching / Officiating qualifications
- Developing people through workshops
- Partnership programmes within the community
To apply to be part of this city wide celebration of sport and physical activity, organisations must:
- Read the information provided and eligibility document
- Complete an online application form providing all details requested. Please note you cannot save progress in the online form.
- Attach governing document (e.g. Constitution)
- Attach proof of sustainable bank account (e.g. bank statement in the organisation’s name).
Applications must be submitted via the online application form on this page.
Applications open on 21 September 2026 and close on Sunday 19 of October 2026.
Applications are based on:
- Delivery within the Glasgow City boundary.
- Sessions that directly target people aged 3 to 26 year olds.
- Projects that meet the priorities of the fund
In addition to the application process, all applicants must provide:
- Evidence of the organisation’s governance structure (e.g. Constitution or legal status)
- Proof of suitable club / organisation bank account
- Expectation that your organisation will have the following documents in place:
- Appropriate PVG procedures
- Appropriate Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups policy and procedures.
- Appropriate insurance cover for all activities being delivered.
All funded projects will contribute to the fund’s outcomes and will be asked to provide a monitoring and evaluation report.
As part of our commitment to Summer of Sport, sportscotland and Research Scotland request that all projects complete the following surveys:
- Deliverers survey (coaches / volunteers delivering)
- Parents and carers of participants
- Participants (optional)
