Club Open Doors 2026

After the excitement of the World Cup and Glasgow's success in hosting the Commonwealth Games, we want to help more people stay active and try something new.

Give it a Go Glasgow - Club Open Doors 2026 is a city-wide celebration of sport and physical activity for young people aged 3 to 26. It brings together sports clubs and community organisations from across Glasgow to showcase the activities available in local areas.

As part of the Summer of Sport 2026 programme, Glasgow Life is helping clubs welcome new participants and inspire more people to get involved.

How can your club take part?

We're asking clubs and organisations to run at least one free session for new participants during the event.

The free session should:

  • Be open to people from your local community
  • Welcome new participants who haven't tried your activity before
  • Take place between Monday 7 September and Sunday 20 September 2026

To help make your session special, Glasgow Life can provide up to £250 to support the delivery and promotion of your event.

Why get involved?

By opening your doors, you can:

  • Introduce more people to your club
  • Help young people discover new activities
  • Encourage healthier, more active lifestyles
  • Raise awareness of the opportunities available in your community

The campaign aims to make it easier for young people to take part in sport and physical activity, whatever their age, background or ability.

This supports the goals of the Active Glasgow Physical Activity and Sport Strategy 2025-2035, helping to create a city where everyone can enjoy being active.
