Poet and playwright Liz Lochhead talks about the books that have inspired and entertained her. 

Born in Craigneuk, Liz studied at the Glasgow School of Art and went on to teach art in secondary school. Her first collection of poems, Memo for Spring, was published in 1972. Her plays include Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off and Blood & Ice. In 2005, she was made Poet Laureate of Glasgow, and in 2011, became Scots Makar. In 2015 she was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
