Dates and times
This new display celebrates Glasgow’s many record shops of the 1980s and 90s which were a vital part of the city’s internationally-renowned music, creative and cultural scene. Some shops were mainstream, others catered to diverse and specialist tastes in dance music, jazz, folk, classical, reggae, but above all they were places to experience new sounds and styles, forge friendships, launch clubs and bands. Objects on display from 1980-1995 reveal the explosion of musical talent from the Greater Glasgow area, the thriving clubscene, changing audio technology, and the perspective and creativity of fans of the bands.
