Expect to laugh-out-loud with author Gary Panton and illustrator Dotty Sutton as you discover the sometimes spooky but always madcap life of Melanda in The Notwitches. With plenty of fun interactivity, children will get to create their own characters and send them on an adventure of their own, and maybe be inspired to add some of their own illustrations to their story too.
Gary Panton is a writer, scribbler and constant doodler based in Perth. As a child he wrote stories about dinosaurs and hedgehogs and a footballer called Chris Mas who only ever scored goals at Christmas time. The Notwitches is his first children’s novel.
Dotty Sutton is an Edinburgh-based illustrator and model maker. The dictionary definition of ‘dotty’ is ‘eccentric or slightly mad’, which is a description she is rather flattered by.
When not drawing, she’s building tiny worlds and puppets out of paper and clay, or inspiring the next generation of adventurers as a Cub Scout leader. Whether she’s drawing or sculpting, her storytelling always feels joyful, inventive and full of character.
