Glasgow Concert Halls
Dates and times
Established in Partick, Glasgow in 1925, the choir has a reputation of being one of Britain premier male choirs. The choir have regularly performed with the London Welsh Male Choir in The Royal Albert Hall, London and are past winners of choral competitions including the prestigious Welsh Eisteddfod. We are delighted to be performing in the new auditorium with our guests the Scottish mezzo soprano Cheryl Forbes and the flautist Nikola Kyosev.
Cheryl has performed constant streams of concerts, oratorio, recitals, opera galas and intimate cabarets across the UK and Abroad and here in Scotland with Scottish Opera. Proud of her roots in Falkirk she has received the scroll of honour and personality of the year from her home town.
Nikola is a renowned flautist and is proud of his heritage in Bulgaria. His delightful style and personality have made him a favourite performer with orchestras in Bulgaria and as a soloist with performances all over Europe.
Adding these soloists to the choir's varied and extensive repertoire promises to make the concert a fitting overture to Christmas with seasonal music, audience participation and choral favourites.
The choir actively encourages singing and has a scholarship scheme to encourage young male singers to experience male choral singing with its health benefits and joie de vivre. For more details check out our website, glasphilmvc.org.uk
