Our art competition for young people aged 3-18 is now open for entries!

Budding young artists are invited to draw their favourite item on display or the architecture of the building itself. Entries must be done in-situ and be the young person’s own work. Take part any time during museum opening hours and hand in your entry before you leave.

Glasgow Life Museums Annual Art Competition for Young People was first established in 1904 and continues to this day. Each year, young people  are invited to draw something on display in one of our museum venues. With such varied collections, and amazing architecture, there's plenty to inspire!  Participation can be through a school visit or as an individual.

This year's participating museums are:

Gallery of Modern Art

Riverside Museum

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

Burrell Collection

St Mungo Museum

Once you've completed your drawing, attach a label to the back of the artwork providing a name, age and contact details -labels are available at the reception desk.

Please bring your own materials such as pastels, coloured pencils or graphite.
