Glasgow City Council's Electoral Registration Office is currently conducting a canvass of all households in Glasgow to establish who is eligible to vote.
Every household will receive a Household Enquiry Form. This will detail all residents that are currently registered to vote at that address. You need to respond to this letter and let us know if the details of your household have changed or if they remain the same. You can provide your response online at www.register-online.co.uk, by phoning 0141 287 4444 or you can post your completed form with the pre-paid envelope provided. Details are on page 2 of the form.
Completing a canvass form no longer registers new electors in your household to vote. They also need to complete an individual registration application.
It only takes a couple of minutes to register to vote online or by phoning 0141 287 4444. You need your national insurance number to complete an application, except 14 and 15 year olds. Being registered means you can vote in elections and can help improve your credit rating.
The voting age for Scottish Elections has been permanently lowered to 16. If you will be 16 or over by 5 May 2016 you can vote in the Scottish Parliamentary election, just make sure you register to vote.
